Lynda joined our team at LJ Hooker Sunnybank Hills after three years at LJ Hooker Algester, where she became a real estate agent after over 20 years as a conveyancer. She’s already seen some great success, we sat down to see what makes her tick.
What made you choose real estate?
Working with real estate agents as a conveyancer, I understood that side of the business and was always passionate about it; I like to think I’m a good communicator and I like to make sure my clients are always happy. I love to get out of the office and I love chatting with people as well, so when I knew I had to make a change, it suited me very well.
What’s different about being an agent rather than a conveyancer?
Customer service, definitely. You really get to know your clients, you get to know them personally, and I like to make friendships if I can. Conveyancing is very task-oriented, but this is more about building a rapport. You meet people in a coffee shop, or in their home, and it’s just a different world.
Is there a difference between Algester and Sunnybank Hills?
I’m still serving the Algester region, but obviously this is a much bigger office. Of course, the people at Algester were lovely, but here you can always phone a friend if you’ve got someone who can’t speak a given language, and there’s support staff here for whatever you need. It reminds me of when I first started as a conveyancer in a high-end solicitor’s office in the city; there were over 300 people on staff there, everything was very busy, and I like busy.
